Call me crazy but I believe that there is no romance without a bit of humor. Love doesn't come without laughter. That is what makes a relationship work--in real life anyway.
Greetings to one and all! Writing romances has been as big a passion for me as reading them. For the past twenty years I have been telling my husband that I want to be an author.
Well, last year he told me to put my money where my mouth is and as the Nike commericals claim--Just Do It!
So with 'pen in hand' and yellow legal pad at the ready I went on to accomplish a goal of completeing a novel. I am happy to say--it is finished.
After submitting to various romance writing chapters and coming very close to finaling in some and coming in third place over all in another, I have decided the revisions to 'said novel' are done and I am ready to try and market what I have.
Whether or not I see any grand results, I have at least completed step one of my process and I will never know unless I get my butt in gear and toss caution to the wind.
So here is to you Hubby--thanks for the laptop, portable hard drive, and various romance writers chapter memberships. Not to mention the weird hours, notecards, mess of papers on the desk and time with my critique partner--yes, we actually work on our books.
I'm a happily, stressed out wife and mother who after a day of car pooling the kids to school, trying to figure out why I talk to a Beta fish, and why no one has come up with a self-cleaning shower, likes to write romances that show that everyday life can be combined in a fantasy world of hot men and heaving bosoms.
(It's easier to think of heaving bosoms than the ones that gravity is taking over slowly.)
