Okay, thought I would give it a try. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. I am not going to edit anything until December. Plus, I received my first two rejection slips for "Vampires Suck"--WooHoo I am on a roll!!! How many did Nora Roberts have before she was published?
Also, the Muse was awake again at four o'clock this morning--she won't let me sleep--the _ itch! Anyway new idea for a contemporary--yes, still have the other one from last month in the back of my head too Business and Pleasure but this one I had to write down too.
"Fantasy Knights" (no, Cindy Miles, this is not a paranormal knights of old come to haunt hearts)--this is about a young widowed woman who owns a traveling all male review of eight hunks known as "Fantasy Knights". These hotties have taken the country by storm with Cynthia's help and are enjoying the fruits of their labors. Unfortunately, Cyn's need for a normal life for her and her five year old daughter, Karen is becoming an issue and Cyn decides to secretly do a final tour in hopes of finding someone to take over as CEO.
John Turner, her friend and one of the veteran dancers has secretly been in love with Cyn and can't do a damn thing about it. His contract is specific and he's torn between quiting the group to get out of the dilimma but also knows that he would never see her or little Karen again. Not knowing about Cyn's desire for a 'normal' life all he can think about is taking his boss to bed and making her want a life with him--doing what, John doesn't know--but he wants to do it with her.
So what do you think? I may look into Harlequin for this story line. Not only would this start out as a good one but possibly have sequels with the other guys too. Hmm? Could be.

Closer and Closer on Twice Bitten
My goal of finishing one novel, "Vampires Suck" was last years goal. This year I am hoping to finish its sequel, "Twice Bitten". My critique partner keeps me challenged and eager to see completion.
I also managed to get queries out for "Vampires Suck" to three out of my list of ten agents this week. I guess its that 'now or never'- 'do it or wonder if' situation that I am dealing with. Now it is in the hands of others to judge my future endeavors, and keep plodding along (and plotting) along until something happens.

Productive Morning--Yeah!
Thanks to a friend of mine and a wonderful critique partner :) I had a very productive morning on my sequel to "Vampires Suck". "Twice Bitten" is underway Her contest on her blog site was to see how many words we could get done in an hour. So yeah--great time and had a great scene outline come out of it too. Not too shabby! Some very good scenes that I hope will later be enjoyed by the public. Someday!

Okay--I Am Back. Lots of New Ideas
When reality gets in the way I don't get to blog as much. But I have a bit of time. I am working on a contemporary romance--possibly chick-lit sub-genre--unsure right now. I figured the idea would work for a Book In A Week group that I am doing for one of my writing chapters. It will give me a break from paranormal for awhile. I will try to keep it posted on blog site for word count. More to come. Book is called: Business and Pleasure.

Eastwick-- New TV Show
Okay--had to blog about this! OMG! Did anyone see Paul Gross on the new series "Eastwick"--yummy!! It makes you want to move to New England and become a witch! Yeah, I think he definitely is one of those men who just seems to become better with age--ala Sean Connery-ish. Or maybe it is just all that 'bad boy' imagery. Whatever--it does the trick!
Twice Bitten--sequel to Vampires Suck
Now that Vampires Suck is done--for now, I have been 're-vamping' (pardon the pun) the sequel--Twice Bitten. This is the story of a couple of secondary characters from Vampires Suck. I also have been tinkering around with the outline for the third book--Written With Blood (unsure of exact title yet).

Cindy Miles--Thirteen Chances
What a great read! Her latest book is (as usual) a winner in my household. Check it out. Irish castles by the sea--hot, Irish ghost trying to keep his lost love safe, more hot ghosties and funny witches--trying hard to help two long-lost lovers. A real curl up, cozy kind of book. I enjoyed a rainy morning with a cup of hot tea, some banana bread and "Thirteen Chances". Best morning! (I did feel guilty that housework wasn't completed--but darn it all--had a great time!)
My daughter had to wait until I was finished before she could read it!
